The Bees return to league action tonight with an away trip to Benfleet FC, looking to bounce back from their last league outing against Saffron Walden Town.

Basildon's scheduled fixture against Sporting Bengal United was postponed, meaning tonight's match will be the first time the Bees have taken to the pitch since a 2–1 defeat to Saffron Walden Town.

Despite creating a number of opportunities in that game, Basildon were unable to make the most of their chances and were ultimately punished by a late breakaway goal, leaving the Bees without anything to show for their efforts.

Last Season's Meetings

The two sides met twice last season, with both teams recording a victory on home soil.

Basildon came out on top in the first meeting at the DST Stadium, securing a 3–0 victory. Samir Ali was the star of the show, scoring twice, while Jamie Price also found the net as the Bees secured all three points.

Benfleet would claim the points in the return fixture, however, recording a 4–0 victory. Max Jobson scored twice, with Taylor Lawrence and Jacob Wiggins also getting on the scoresheet.

The match also saw Basildon's Charlie Webb dismissed after receiving two yellow cards.

With both sides looking to put points on the board, tonight's encounter promises to be another competitive Essex Senior League fixture.
