Bees in crucial victory

Three points won against promotion rivals
Basildon United returned to action at The Ho-Ho Stadium off the back of two straight defeats, looking to put their promotion push back on track against FC Romania.
The opening exchanges were a cagey affair, much as they were in the reverse fixture last month.
However, The Bees were having the better of the few chances and Jack Adlington had put a free kick over the bar before he found himself clean through on 20 minutes, forcing a smart save from Adrian Darabant in the FC Romania goal.
Mihai Dinu went close for the visitors shortly after with a free kick of his own, but Bees were on top and Darren Phillips might have scored with a powerful header that went just over on 25 minutes.
Chances remained few and far between with both sides resolute in defence and the half ended goalless.
The second half began much as the first half ended, Dinu flashing a header wide early on.
However, Bees looked the more dangerous and finally made it pay on 57 minutes when Adlington was played in and slotted home to give the hosts the lead.
Barely ten minutes more had elapsed before Adlington added his and the Bees second as he made no mistake from close range.
The visitors kept probing for a way back into the game, Florin Pop's shot being blocked well by Will Putt after 70 minutes, before he forced a save from Connor Wheatley minutes later.
Bees never looked like surrendering their lead though and when Constantin Arotaritei saw red late on there was no way back for the visitors.
